AES Objectives
The objectives of this society shall be:
- To stimulate and promote studies of stresses as they apply to or effect the structures and functions of the temporomandibular region and related parts;
- To stimulate studies and promote better understanding of the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of occlusal and temporomandibular joint disease. In furtherance of these objectives, the society shall stimulate research and education by:
- Bringing together, for mutual aid and understanding, members of the various branches within the healing arts to develop an interdisciplinary approach toward the accomplishment of the objectives of this society.
- Fostering a concern for the doctor-patient relationship with regard to the legal and ethical aspects, insofar as they shall consistently promote the welfare of the healing professions and the general public, and,
- Promoting better knowledge, understanding, and awareness by members of the healing arts and general public of the nature and treatment of occlusal and temporomandibular joint disease.
